What window mananger are you using? When the dropdown appears in the "wrong" place, are you sure there is room for it in the usual place, or might it extend off the bottom of the screen? Some window managers will move it in such cases, although I'm pretty sure I've only seen it put just above the anchor in that case, instead of opening below. I'm using Gnome. I believe there is room for the entire dropdown where it normally should display. In fact, now that I play with it a little, it seems every other starting letter will decide the placement. A - will show the dropdown in the wrong place, B - will show the dropdown in the right place, C - will show the dropdown in the wrong place, D - will show the dropdown in the right place, etc, you get the picture. It would see the first character I enter in the payee field determines where the dropdown is placed. The dropdown is the same size in both places assuming there are enough entries for a scrollable list. It seems the maximum size of the displayed list is about 6 enties, with a scroll bar added to look farther down if more are available. Gnome Shell 3.36.2 |
