Description Garrett Carver 2020-05-20 00:04:11 UTC
SUMMARY
When casting a video to my TV from a youtube browser tab, cannot control video using media buttons or system tray icon. I would love this feature as I often stream coding tutorials from my browser while working in a different window.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a YouTube video in browser (Chromium / Brave)
2. Observe media controls successfully pauses/plays video
3. Begin casting video to device (either via Cast button, or the Chromium Menu > Cast.. > {Select TV} )

OBSERVED RESULT
After casting, media controls no longer plays/pauses the video

EXPECTED RESULT
While casting, should be able to use media controls same as while not casting.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

I guess the player stops/disappears from the website while casting? Then we can't control it anymore, unfortunately.

Hi Kai,
Thanks for taking a look at this! Actually, the player doesn't disappear, so you can still control the video from the browser. (see screenshot attached)

Thanks,
Garrett
