Description simone.zanin 2020-05-10 18:34:52 UTC
SUMMARY

The network icon goes missing after launch when a wireguard vpn connection is enabled before an actual wifi connection.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a wireguard connection, and pre-configure at least one wifi connection
2. Set both connections to connect automatically (in my case the wifi connection has a priority of 3 vs 0 for wg)
3. Reboot and login

OBSERVED RESULT

The network indicator is a blank space between other two icons. Network works fine. Clicking on it will succesfully show the network applet with the list of connections. Disabling the wireguard vpn will reset the icon to the wifi signal indicator, and reconnecting will add a lockpad as expected.

EXPECTED RESULT
The wifi + lockpad icon should be shown when a wifi connection is eventually established. A different icon (the shield one maybe?) should be shown when wg is the only "connection" (my guess is that the wg connection fails as the server cannot be reached without an actual network).
