On KDE Neon Unstable I have tried it with ~20 links and it works every time. Works for me in 5.19.5 Operating System: KDE neon 5.19 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-51-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620 |
Created attachment 127569 [details] Screen recording of the bug reproduction SUMMARY When drugging a URL onto a .desktop icon, the application does not open in 100% of cases. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a web page in a browser 2. Drag some hyperlink onto browsers's icon (.desktop file) OBSERVED RESULT Most of the time, the context menu for the directory where the .desktop file is located is opened (e.g. $HOME/Desktop). EXPECTED RESULT 100% of the time, the application is opened with the dragged URL as argument. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-46-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - In the attached video, two out of three times the incorrect context menu is opened. - While trying to reproduce the issue, the plasmashell crashed, seemingly right after drag-n-drop attempt. However, I couldn't reproduce the crash after that. - Dran-n-drop for files works 100% of the time.
