Overlay Mode |
I can confirm this for the 4.2.9 appimage. For 5. In Brush Options, check "Overlay Mode", do you mean set the Blending Mode to Overlay? If so, it shows this behaviour for any brush blending mode. Setting to Confirmed. How this should be dealt with or could be dealt with is another matter. (In reply to Ahab Greybeard from comment #1) > I can confirm this for the 4.2.9 appimage. > > For 5. Uh, it's literally called "Overlay Mode" on the UI, and I don't think it's the same thing as Blending Mode (perhaps they're under the hood? I have no idea) Created attachment 127386 [details]
Overlay Mode
Oh, you're right. Sorry for being misleading. The Overlay Mode doesn't matter. I'll change the title While the outside is still treated as transparency, there is a new mode in Color Smudge engine that provides a second workaround. 1) Lock alpha on the layer you're on, OR 2) Color Smudge editor -> Smudge Length -> Smear Alpha (uncheck to get rid of this behaviour) Does it fix your issue? Note that in case of Smear Alpha off, the Eraser Mode doesn't work, unfortunately. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. On Krita 5.0 beta, color smudge brush no longer smudges the transparency in from the outside of canvas. |
Created attachment 127380 [details] result of smudging SUMMARY With Overlay Mode on, Color Smudge Engine treats the space outside of the canvas as complete transparency, and smudge the transparency in. It's somewhat logical, but I highly doubt the result is intended, cause it effectively removes pixels from the layer. (see attachment) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a new file with Krita 2. Create a new layer 3. Fill the new layer with a solid color 4. Choose Blender_Knife_Edge 5. In Brush Options, check "Overlay Mode" 6. Smudge around the edge of canvas OBSERVED RESULT See attachment. EXPECTED RESULT Nothing should change. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS macOS: 10.14.6 Krita: 4.9.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
