Description jpeheffernan+kdebugtracking 2020-04-07 09:49:03 UTC
SUMMARY

On Linux, right-clicking a clip in my project and changing the speed brings up a little window to select the speed (defaulting to 100.00%) and I can type a speed to change it by a lot, quickly. On Windows, my partner gets the same little window to select a speed, but cannot type to change it. It can only be changed with the little input arrows, which took ages of holding down for her to get from 100 to 1200.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a clip to an empty project
2. Drag the clip into the start of the project
3. Right click the clip in the project area, and select change speed
4. Click on 100.00 and try to type to change the number

OBSERVED RESULT

The number doesn't change (by typing).

EXPECTED RESULT

It should change, like it does on Linux.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I want to get my partner on to free software, so I learnt how to do this speed change in kdenlive and suggested she use it, but it was not a good experience for her unfortunately.

Yes, Windows version is still a bit behind. However the problem you mention is now solved in the upcomming 20.04 version. You can download a daily beta version for testing here (the .exe installer file):

https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_mingw64/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/

20.04 release is on the 23rd of April otherwise...

Thanks! I'll let her know the new version should be fine and ready for next time
