Error popups - they appear at one place, I have moved them so all are visible

SUMMARY

I am a part of shared Google calendar, and I added that calendar to KOrganizer. Three times so far, I saw a bunch of popups, saying "Error while trying to delete calendar item. Error was: No items found". I was not using Korganizer at that time, it was running in the background. I have Korganizer connected to the calendar widget in my panel, but I did not open that widget today. The deleting happened last october, then on 2020-03-24, and again today (2020-04-06).

When checking the calendar bin through the webpage, I see that KOrganizer successfully deleted some of the events. The events are only from said shared calendar - none of my individual events are affected. Also, the deleted events have nothing in common. They are in the future, in the past, they may or may not belong to the same "recurring event" group, I may be going, I may not be going, I may not be invited. In October, about 30 events were affected, last month it was a little less.

When it happened for the second time, I asked to have my write access to the calendar revoked. This was a good step, because today, no events were actually removed - I only see the popups as usual, and permission issues in the log.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I have no idea how to reproduce this, I am terribly sorry. A colleague said today she was changing something in the calendar before KOrganizer went crazy. I have no idea if someone was interacting with the calendar in the two previous cases. 

OBSERVED RESULT

When working on the computer (korganizer is not even open), suddenly popups appear, saying that events could not be deleted (I didn't ask for any deletes). In the google calendar bin online, I can see the affected events (or nothing, if my write access was revoked), and I can restore the items manually.

EXPECTED RESULT

There are other poeple's events being deleted in the background, by my computer, without my permission. I don't want to have events deleted without my explicit request for it.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

When writing this report, I noticed that the dates of the issue (October, 03-24) match the switch in daylight saving time - so it could be caused by time issues? Today morning, I restarted from windows, and this moves my system clock, so I had to move the system time oen hour backward after that.

Also I noticed that Korganizer does not display my calendar until I restarted my "Google Groupware" calendar.

I'm using "Better Inline Clock" [1] widget which can display my calendar events.

I also got hit by the same bug today (a large number of error popups identical with those in the initial report), but this was in a Google calendar accessible only by me, and I do not live in a region that uses Daylight Saving Time. Unfortunately, I do not know how to find out if (and how many) events were actually deleted from the calendar (but my recent events seem to be intact).

I have been experiencing this error approx for an year now, if not more.

I use KMail and KOrganizer for work and personal stuff. For work i have Gmail and i think it happens because of that too, because previous work place used outlook and then these errors did not show up.

If anyone has ~100 items in their calendar and plasma prints all those errors there's a dirty workaround to clear all the messages, so you dont have to strain your hands. 

type into krunner:

kquitapp5 plasmashell; kstart5 plasmashell

Is there anything we can do, to speed this along? This bug makes the Google Calendar Integration unusable.. At worst, it freezes the whole shell, at best it "just" floods my screen with 100s of the described error messages.

For anybody experiencing the same issue and their system freezes: i had some luck killing `korgac` in a different tty (via Ctrl+Alt+F2), switching back to plasma and then disabling compositing (via Alt+Shift+F12), which unfroze plasma and allowed me to dismiss all of the error windows.. Especially helpful, when you're in a video call and don't want to hard reset your computer..

Any update on this?

My Korganizer calendar will completely delete everything from the application and will not sync to google at all over time....I have to "restart" the calendar in KOrganizer.

It seems this bug is still very much alive. I discovered today that KOrganizer seems to silently delete random shared events from Google Workspace with no prompt whatsoever. I learned so when a colleague stated that his meeting from the afternoon disappeared from the calendar. When browsing through Google Workspace logs I saw I was the one causing it.

Using various filters I identified at least a dozen of similar deletions in the past few months, none of which have been reported by my colleagues. Investigating the cause of the deletion was not easy : I have obviously no memory of what I was doing for past events, but for the one of today I am absolutely certain I was not using the calendar at time of deletion. Plus, the User Agent logged by Google does not correspond to what my Firefox advertise. I then explored the possibility that one of my desktop/mobile calendar app was causing the problem. Thunderbird is locked in read-only mode for shared calendars (in order to avoid mistakes) so unlikely.

However KOrganizer was always running in the background. I stopped using KDE PIM for work a few month ago due to a high number of bugs, unexpected behaviors, etc so at that time I removed my Google Workspace account from Kmail. However, it seems that doing so did not also remove my Google account from KOrganizer. Since I still have a KOrganizer instance running in the background for local-only events, it seems to have persisted deleting random stuff from time to time, until I noticed it today.

I removed my Google Account from KOrganizer and set up an alert on similar events in Google's security center. This issue caused quite the confusion, I hope to see it gone now, but I thought it should be adequate to update this old bug to provide the info that similar symptoms are still very much happening today.
