That bar is the contrast region not being updated.

forgive me being stupid, but are you saying this is happening on X or wayland?
The bug shown in "after click on the next day" screenshot occurs on Wayland. This is probably somehow my fault (I rewrote the layout of this applet recently). I don't see it on X11 FWIW. Plasma 5.20 beta has a different calendar and this report is no longer relevant. |

STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. start Wayland session 2. open calendar by clicking on digital clock beside the system tray 3. click on the next day OBSERVED RESULT A bar appears on top of calendar. Compare the screenshots before and after click on the next day.
