SUMMARY kile hightlights math mode but it is not STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. write "\cite[Figures 1(a), 4, 10(a), and~10(b)]{Hosono2008}." 2. kile will color everything after the first "(" orange, like math environment... but it is definitely NOT a math env. OBSERVED RESULT math environment EXPECTED RESULT no math environment SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS kile version 2.9.92
