Description Lastique 2020-03-11 19:39:45 UTC
SUMMARY

Package download progress bar does not display the actual progress and instead hangs at 0% for the duration of package download and jumps to 100% when download is complete.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Mark a package for installation or upgrade. Preferably a large one, that would take time to download. For example, firefox-dbg (>400 MiB).
2. Click Apply Changes and watch the download progress bar against the package name.

OBSERVED RESULT

The progress bar hangs at 0% for the duration of the download (you can monitor the download by external tools for network activity monitoring), then jumps to 100% and the process continues to the next package or package installation.

EXPECTED RESULT

The progress bar should reflect the actual downloading progress.

I can add that the progress bar updates if the window with the list of packages being downloaded needs to be redrawn. For example, when I hover mouse over the line with the package being downloaded or switch focus to another window and back.

Muon is no longer maintained, please switch no a supported alternative like https://apps.kde.org/discover/ or the package manager native no your system.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
