SUMMARY
I have not used Kdenlive for some time at my place of work and decided to download the latest AppImage before starting to get back into it.  However, after downloading multiple releases I have discovered that it fails to launch since v18.  Specifically, kdenlive-18.12.1b-x86_64.appimage is the last AppImage version that I am able to run.

I am not a sysadmin, just a regular employee so I am unable to configure anything relating to our system.  Afaik our system is a custom compiled Linux and we use the Mate desktop environment.

CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core)
3.10.0-862.11.6.el7.x86_64

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download and execute any Kdenlive AppImage since kdenlive-18.12.1b-x86_64.appimage on the system

OBSERVED RESULT
kdenlive: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.20' not found (required by kdenlive)
kdenlive: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.9' not found (required by kdenlive)

Hi Farid.

With kdenlive-20.12.3-x86_64.appimage I now get one single error:

kdenlive: error while loading shared libraries: libgcrypt.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am not sure but I fear this is an issue with your system... maybe the older kernel or libs... 

Are you able to run appimages of other apps?

obs-studio runs (but is very unstable) and OpenRA also.

Hello,

I see you are using CentOS 7, but I understood that kde binary-factory runs on a Ubuntu basis for several years, probably 16.04, which has slightly more recent libs. That explains why our AppImage cannot run on your system. I heard of a KDE contributor setting up a CentOS builder, but this is for Craft builds, not used by our AppImage builds for now.

I have a CentOS system on which flatpak run perfectly, so I advise you to pick those binaries.

OK, thank you Vincent.

I think from my limited understanding of Flatpak that as it requires a greater amount system privileges than just executing an AppImage this may not be an option for me at my work.

Thanks again both for the help.  I will continue to run kdenlive from my laptop.
