the date as desired

I have a 2160p HiDPI display with scaling set to 225%. I have my panel on the left-hand side, and like to display the date in the "ddd d" format. This is shown in the screenshot as I like it in the attached original_date.PNG. However, when I reboot the date then shows as excessively large as in large_date.PNG.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.80 / 5.18.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1

This image shows the example of excessively large font size for the date in the panel.

I have the same issue, shown in the image 'Example2'. I am using Plasma 5.18.4, Frameworks 5.58.0, Qt 5.12.8, Kernel 5.4.0-26-generic on Kubuntu 20.04. I've tried with different fonts and it keeps growing in size :-(

Screen is a rather boring Dell P2416D QHD display.
