Confirmed using the git version of Krusader. Thanks for the information, Todd. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 393320 *** Todd, while the root cause (an upstream frameworks-kbookmarks bug) is solved: a commit has been applied to the source code of Krusader in order to achieve that Krusader users do not see the effects of the bug, and so they can work as they expect.
If you can follow the steps of

then you can build the git version of Krusader, get its latest features now, and tell Krusader developers about what you find.
