Right now I'm using a desktop without panels, except a limited auto-hidden pannel to hold tray area and other stuff. I've been using "present windows" a lot to switch between windows, which is pretty fast and nice. To launch stuff I usually use KRunner. But I've been thinking, since opening "present windows" is painless (quick), it would be cool if there was some launcher there too. Why stop at just a launcher, why not a whole panel that can be customized? It would be the same as other Plasma panels but it would only exist when on "present windows". This would be very cool on a panel-less setup, since I can just open that mode to look at information (like the time) or open new stuff.

You can retain existing panels with an option.

There are some 3rd party effects that have a bigger launcher. It is out of scope for present windows.
