This is intentional. The old icon was for Neopmuk, which has been dead for years. The new icon is more semantically appropriate for a search widget. Looks like we need bigger versions of that icon though. |

Since 5.17.5, the icon used is search (see the attached file Icon-since-5_17_5.png). It looks ugly when using oxygen icon theme because the png exists only in resolution 16x16.
