SUMMARY
I add either audio or video to a blank project no problem, but after that I can't add anything else. The only place it appears is in the project library.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Exiting and opening the program
2. Adding files to the project library
3. Trying to add files after adding the first file

Why you add clips to the project library? Using the project library is not fully working in the 19.04ff versions. 

You have to use the project bin -> then add the clip to the timeline.

The library is used for special situations and not for proper editing. You need to add you videos to the project bin for that. Either way, can you test if this is happening with the latest version (20.12.2)?
