SUMMARY

Using Wipe transition in connection with Freeze effect results in weird transition when the video is rendered. Works normally in edit.

This has been going on for the last 5 releases if not more! I think the last working was 19.4 version.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Two clips, one in V1 and one above in V2
2. Overlay V2 over V1 and set Wipe transition to about 6 to 12 frames
3. Render video

OBSERVED RESULT

Attached is a quick example and you can see this at around 1.20 and 5.10.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kdenlive: Version 19.12.0
KDE Frameworks Version: KDE Frameworks 5.61.0
Qt Version: Qt 5.12.4 (built against 5.12.4)

I tested with Windows and the transition works as expected.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.12.0a to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/

If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

I am using AppImage: kdenlive-19.12.0a-x86_64.appimage.

Yes, transitions works as expected.. But not with freeze effect on top clip.

Didn't add the freeze effect to steps to reproduce.. Should be clear from my summary.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Two clips, one in V1 and one above in V2
2. Overlay V2 over V1 and set Wipe transition to about 6 to 12 frames
3. Set freeze effect on V2 clip.
4. Render video
Comment 3 emohr 2020-01-05 18:43:28 UTC
I tested with the freeze effect on V2 and 10 frames wipe transition on Windows 19.12.0 and with the AppImage 19.12.0a and I get the correct result.

Try with the AppImage and disable "parallel processing".
