Description Willy 2019-12-31 09:58:27 UTC
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Render a video and set the target file to one on a NFS drive
2. Rendering fails
3. But saving the project to the same location does succeed !

OBSERVED RESULT
Rendering fails with message "Cannot write to
 mnt/Public/Pictures/20190101_Vuurwerk/vuurwerk.mp4, check permissions."

EXPECTED RESULT
That I can get the resulting video in the chosen location. On the command-line I can move it to that NFS location, so it is not a permission issue.

It could be a Debian issue. Clips and rendering to a USB connected drive could be a problem as well.

Unfortunately 18.12 and older Kdenlive versions are not maintained anymore.

You can try with 19.04 AppImage. Kdenlive 19.08 and 19.12 need Debian 19.04 or newer.

Installed KDENLIVE 19.12.1 (flatpak) and there it all works: I can save to the NFS drive without problems.
Issue solved.
