Thank you for reporting this crash in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the crash with a recent software version? there were simply too many issues with Kontact and gmail, so I moved on and switched to thunderbolt. The look-and-feel is a bit "clunkier" - but it works Later yet, I switched to a Mac completely and was never looking back. The downside: I cannot reproduce anything with Kontact anymore 😪
For the bug state, is there such a thing as "abandoned"? It would fit perfectly.
