SUMMARY

Playing an MPEG-4-Video with ~3 Mbits/s and 25 fps, my CPU (2+2 cores) load goes to ~20-25% and the fans start whirring.

This does not happen if the video is played with the VLC player or 4k video is watched on the web. Gwenview could surely need some performance improvements for simple video playback! :)

Are you able to upload the video so we have the same content for testing.

I don't remember which video it was and the two I tested now produced similar loads as they'd do in VLC (a little bit higher though).

Anyway, since I could disable the auto playback, I am no longer much interested in gwenview's "video capabilities". :)
