SUMMARY
windows views mess up themselves and become locked as you toggle between views. one of the view options starts to activate 2 view options.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Uninstall Krita
2. Delete all remainning files of krita from the hard drive
3. Reinstall Krita
4. Set up key shortcuts for the follwing commands:
      numberpad / - Show Canvas Only
      numberpad * - Full Screen___________________(problematic)
      numberpad 7 - Show File Toolbar_____________(problematic)
      numberpad 8 - Show Brush and Stuff Toolbar__(problematic)
      numberpad 9 - Show Dockers
5. On the krita window press "restore down" so it does not occupy the whole screen and becomes a floating window
6. press on and off "Show Canvas Only" or / (working)
7. press on and off "Full Screen" or *
8. Press on and off "Show Canvas Only" or / (not working)

in parallel

9. press ON "Full Screen" or * (works)
10. press on and off "Show Dockers" or 9 (works)
11. press on and off "Show File Toolbar" or "Show Brush and Stuff Toolbar" (toolbars visibility don't work)

OBSERVED RESULT
the "Show Canvas Only" becomes equal to activating "Show Canvas Only" + "Full Screen".
Toolbars visibility don't work only the docker view.

EXPECTED RESULT
to "Show Canvas Only" to be independant of "Full Screen" mode and able to use it in a small window.
being able to toggle the toolbars visibility with the shortcut press.

this bug works with whatever shortcuts you choose.

You can configure what Show Canvas Only shows and hides in Krita's settings: one of those settings is "Titlebar" which toggles the full-screen mode. There's also a toolbars switch. If you disable those, canvas only should work like you want?

Yes that is True.
But there is "Show Canvas Only" and "Full Screen Mode" and both do the same in the end. Despite when you start on a fresh install they do different things without touching on those settings at all. that is just a work around on the bug.

Sorry, but it is intentional that by default the canvas-only mode invokes fullscreen.
