Can you please attach the krita.log file (or just copy the content from Help -> Show system information for bugs reports), it often has something like warnings or asserts that are hidden from the user but might be relevant here? Also it looks like it was just after selecting a brush; do you remember which one of it was? Does it crash again if you select it? Can you just try selecting all the brushes you have if you don't remember? Does it happen often to you in 4.2.8, or was it just one-time thing? (Of course forgot to change the status...) Setting to reported again @acc4, when I select your brush I get lots of lag, but it doesn't crash, neither on 4.2.8, nor on current master. It looks like it doesn't have the brush tip, could you please provide the brush tip as well? Seems like it should be called "3-block-bristle11.png".
