I don't understand what "Add to Favorites" function you are talking about. kolourpaint itself does not have (and never had) such a function. Are you maybe talking about this feature inside the file dialog ? If so, that's not an integral part of kolourpaint - it's using a plugin which the platform provides, so nothing I can do about it.
