Description Claus Appel 2019-11-17 09:32:57 UTC
This is the #1 feature from KSnapshot that I miss in Spectacle:

1. Select a rectangle.
2. Take a screenshot of the rectangle.
3. Save it.
4. Now I would like a button that reselects THE SAME rectangle so I can quickly and easily take a new screenshot of the new contents of the same region.

Shutter also has a variant of this feature.

If you implement this feature, PLEASE make the application SHOW the selected rectangle before saving so that I can adjust it before taking the screenshot. (This is what KSnapshot does. Shutter just takes the screenshot immediately, which is not as user-friendly.)

Thanks in advance! :)

Good news that feature is already implemented!
You can enable remembering the rectangular selection inside the Settings.
If enabled and you take a new screenshot in rectangular region mode the selection
rectangle will appear and you can make adjustments before capturing a new image.

Thanks! From which version is this feature implemented? I cannot find it in the settings in version 17.12.3.

It was added for Spectacle 19.04.0, see https://kde.org/announcements/announce-applications-19.04.0.php
