Does this still happen with a more recent KDE/Qt?

Horrible to me as well 1gb ram eaten in 14 hours.Only fix is to restart the computer.

Well if it's kde 3.0 then ksirc in that version is no longer maitained.  Please upgrade.  If it's not, then i need more details, like what version, what kde version, what compiler, what OS, etc.
