Currently it is only possible to attach the icon or an entry of an app to the task bar by executing a right click in Kicker and within the context menu to choose "attach to task bar".

It would be convenient if it were also possible to simply drag and drop an app to the taskbar.

You can drag apps to the panel. Make sure your widgets are unlocked

Thanks, that's the trick! I wonder why there's such a inconsistency between the "add by context menu" and "add by drag'n'drop" in terms of locked widgets.
