I used an image from some months ago. The installer allowed me to connect to my wifi and I'm almost sure I told it to update while installing. After the installation finished, I removed the usb drive (which froze the live installer - had to force reboot) and then it wouldn't show the login screen at boot. I had to go to another TTY and use nmcli to connect to wifi and realized when doing pkcon update that there were tons of packages to update. After I updated that, the system worked as normal.
