Description elman 2019-10-03 10:39:57 UTC
SUMMARY
I have 2 monitors, I use extended display. When I configure them next to each other, they overlap by 1px.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect 2 monitors
2. Make extended workspace
3. Configure secondary monitor on right and snap it to the main monitor.
4. Set separate wallpaper for each monitor

OBSERVED RESULT
If I click on primary (left) monitor, I can see 1px of wallpaper on secondary (right) and vice versa.

EXPECTED RESULT
Screens do not overlap.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.16
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Qt Version: 5.12.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm using X11.
Primary monitor has width of 1920px, so I assume it is placed at coordinates 0-1919. Secondary monitor is configured at coordinates 1919-3839. So this would mean that pixels at 1919 are actually displayed at both monitors showing 1px overlap. Shouldn't secondary monitor start at 1920?

This might have relation to Bug 339602.

Try again with 5.17 (KScreen reworked).

Please let us know whether or not this is fixed with Plasma 5.17 which is due to be released in a little under two weeks.

Unfortunately I'm using Neon on my work notebook, so I can't switch to testing branch. However I will try to boot live testing ISO to check it out.

Neon 5.16.90 live ISO doesn't want to boot on my notebook. It got stuck with black screen and white cursor after loading screen and before logon screen. When I tried another USB port, it got stuck on loading screen. So I guess I will try again when Plasma 5.17 is released.

I confirm that this issue is indeed fixed in 5.17. You may close this issue.

Thank you.
