Description Anthony Vital 2019-10-02 18:22:22 UTC
As the title says, PlasmaComponents.TextField uses distance field for text rendering instead of native rendering. As a result, not only do fonts not look good, but they completely stick out from the rest of the Plasma desktop.
It wasn't like that a few months ago, I don't remember exactly when the change was introduced, sorry.

Are you using a fractional scale factor? Can you attach a screenshot?

Please excuse my quick attempt at showing several textfields in one image.
You can see the textfields in kickoff, krunner and the clipboard plasmoid using distance field as opposed to the textfields in the system settings or the system monitor.
The scale factor is set to 1 in the system settings.

Thanks, that's very helpful.

That's done on purpose right now due to issues with password field bullet points rendering and opacity blending issues
