SUMMARY
Some file extensions have empty(invisible) icon. If the file extension has no icon in System Settings/File Associations than it has no icon on desktop, while in Dolphin it has application-x-zerosize.svg icon.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a file called resource.qrc on your desktop 

OBSERVED RESULT
You can see only the filename without any associated icon.

EXPECTED RESULT
resource.qrc has same icon as if desktop dir is opened in Dolphin.
