SUMMARY
It is impossible to change the spellcheck language to anything other than locale default.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use "Select dictionary..." option in the status bar to select the text language.
2. Use the spellcheck to highlight or proof the text.

OBSERVED RESULT
The suggestions are taken from the old language, despite the Language combobox showing the new one. The words highlighted in the document window have suggestions from in the new language (even for the correct words), but the highlighting is still done in the old language.

EXPECTED RESULT
All features work in the new language.
