Description gottfried.mueller 2019-09-07 10:01:19 UTC
After a system update (Manjaro) Dolphin allows one instance only. For me tabs are not an option. I am using Dolphin at a 4K screen and it needs a part only there. At different virtual desktops I do different things in different directories. So I want back the last features: allowing multiple instances and start Dolphin with a fixed directory in all (splitted) views.
Maybe the current Dolphin is good for a multi-monitor system. But this is not helpful for me. At the moment I use another file manager.

Disable it in the settings

I did not find any configuration parameters in the settings, also nothing in dolphinrc (Manjaro issue ?)

Configure Dolphin > Startup > Open new folders in tabs

I wrote: I want to open a second instance of Dolphin. That means a second separate window, not a folder. It is not possible.

Odd. I sometimes have 10 Dolphin windows open.

Now I removed all dolphin informations in my Home directory and started Dolphin again. Now it works fine. I had a view in the differences between the old and new files. There were many many entries. No idea why. But it doesnt matter. It works now.
Thank you for the helpful discussion
