Description ponchorat1968 2019-08-27 14:39:31 UTC
As the summary header suggests, I would like o see a new feature in Dolphin where we have the option to copy/move files and keep their original time/date stamp. This is especially wanted where photos or videos have been taken by mobile (cell) phone and we want to keep the original info.

Depends on the IO slave but I'm pretty sure it keeps the mtime in tact when copying. How do you copy those files from your phone?
Also, Exif information, which is much better suited for this purpose, will not change when copying.

Yeah, this is supposed to be working already. Can you provide some details regarding how you're copying the files, and what versions of Dolphin and KDE Frameworks you're using?

I'm sorry, I believe I must have been having a blonde moment.
It does keep the dtae/time of original file, I was seeing the date/time of the file as it was being copied and that uses the current date/time and then at the end of the transfer, it puts the original date/time stamp.
I realised this when copying some more dashcam files to my comp.

This can be closed

Sorry peeps.
