1. trying to REconnect to previous SMB link saved to places OR create a NEW SMB connection

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved.

3 months later ... the machine has been decommissioned.

Fair enough. As this can no longer be confirmed I will set the report as resolved as there is nothing further that can be achieved.

I can confirm this still exists.   and since there is over a year between the original report and mine and multiple versions i suspect this is a configuration/supporting package issue (KIO?)

SMB can be run on Linux.
