I've checked #293576 and can have this issue solved locally by changing the default file manager as Dolphin. While in that issue the resolution was "working as intended" my question is: Why is VLC listed in the default component list, in System Settings > Applications > File Manager. I personally don't remember having it set as a file manager. Second question: by which mechanic did VLC get in that list? is it because of some property in the .desktop file? Any of the following?
