SUMMARY
menu items and notification go blank

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. can't reproduce, it happens at random.
2. don't know what i'm doing to cause this.
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT

menu listing are blank.
shows "a" frame but no list of items.
( program listings )


EXPECTED RESULT
all items to show all the time.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

FreeBSD 12.0  x64 bit. 
VMware ver. 15.0 virtual machine !!  
host is windows 8. 4G ram, i-3 quad core.
using 2G ram 2 CPUs in vm.
KDE Plasma Version: latest 5.19 ?
KDE Frameworks Version: latest 5.19 ?
Qt Version: latest 5.x.x ?
pkg upgrade 7/31/19
I did pkg -Ba, -da and -sa  didn't fix it.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

btw:  konqueror does not close cleanly. 
must KILL -9 for it to be <re>started.

btw#2:  KDE works flawlessly on "my" Debian based distros :D

 Chris,
a major upgrade on 8/11/19   1.x Gs  seemed to fix whatever was the problem.
