SUMMARY
Can't make "Modified" column leftmost any more (could in version 2.4 on KDE 4)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Krusader in Debian 10 XFCE
2. Drag "Modified" column leftward
3. Can't get it all the way to left edge

OBSERVED RESULT  Stops at "Name" column

EXPECTED RESULT  Stops at left edge

Debian 10 XFCE
There is a "/usr/lib/kde4" directory, and both "/usr/share/qt4" and /usr/share/qt5" directories

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Name and Modified columns are the most important columns in a file list, as one is often interested in recent files. The Modified column is fixed size (depending only on date/time format), while the Name column is unbounded. Having the Name column leftmost can result in Modified being pushed off too far to see without horizontal scrolling or Name being so narrow as to require column widening (as opposed to simple scrolling) to see the full name.

This seems to be a problem in recent Krusaders per se, as other KDE software works quite nicely on XFCE. (Debian's dependency resolution brings in lots of KDE libraries automatically.

You can hide columns if you press the secondary button of your mouse over the headers, and so on. 

Is hiding columns able to solve your problem?

Hiding columns wouldn't help at all. One needs to see *both* the Name and the Modified columns (the other columns are less important). This is especially the case when one wants to sort first by Modified (since one usually cares about something recent) and then by name, to see the older version(s) of the file.

The idea is that the columns that you hide are the ones that you don't need. Can you see then the information Name and the Modified columns at the same time?
