Hi, I'm afraid that I haven't got enough information to figure out what the issue is. * Do you have an example of a file that Krita 4.2.2 cannot open? * Could perhaps attach the krita.log file that you can find in the local appdata folder * Maybe you could make a screen recording so we can see what's up?
