SUMMARY
Ever since krita 4.2.0 was released I've stuck with 4.1.7, because some brush strokes were visibly lagging behind. This time I recorded a comparison between 4.1.7 and 4.2.2, and it is possible to see the difference very well, especially in slow motion. The same thing does not happen with the linux app-image. I wonder if this is a problem with krita or just my system...

I notice that you're using the Angle renderer, though that's not preferred for your system.

Does the lag go away if you switch to OpenGL in the Display page of the Configure Krita dialog? Maybe the Angle renderer actually falls back to Microsoft's software d3d implementation, which would explain why it's so much slower.

I reinstalled 4.2.2, and it still happens with OpenGL. I also tested the different scaling modes, doesn't seem to make much difference.

As you can see the transparent interface is still a problem under OpenGL. Could these problems be somehow related?

Okay... It's to be expected that the appimage will be better on the same hardware than the windows executable, because windows adds a bit of a delay because of its compositor. But apart from that, 4.2.2 should be faster than 4.1.7 on the same hardware and os, because we did a lot of work optimizing brushes and the canvas. 

I don't have a Windows 7 system anymore, so I cannot check that, but on my Windows 10 Yoga laptop, 4.1.7, 4.1.8 (which is not a release, but a build I did of 4.1.7 with Qt 5.12) and 4.2.2 all perofrm fine. 

Maybe you could check 4.1.8 too? Then we can know whether the issue you're seeing is because of changes from Qt 5.9 to Qt 5.12. See https://files.kde.org/krita/windows/4.1.8

There certainly is a difference between 4.1.7 and 4.2.2. Brush moves a bit slower in 4.2.2, although the 'moving' itself feels more smoother. It seems to be the delay between the cursor and the brush. :/

It's basically unnoticeable for me since I always turn off the Aero mode(Win7) and it drastically reduces that part of the delay, but I hope it'll get better in the future, too.

I'll test this on other systems and if it's Win7 specific then I won't worry about this because it means all I have to do is to just switch the OS when the time comes(probably to Linux). But if it's not I'll might have to stick with the old builds or Win7. :/

Yeah, sorry about the radio silence. I can no longer trust my previous data as render related bugs have begun happening in other applications besides krita, like photoshop, discord, firefox and chrome, so I'm certain at this point something is wrong with my system and must be behind this and the transparent interface bug.
