SUMMARY

Currently there's a timeline panel that shows an histogram of the number of pictures per unit of time, and there's the possibility of saving searches for specific timeframes. 

However, I feel there's a degree of overlap between the Timeline and Dates panels and their function is redundant: both show pictures classified by units of time (year and month) which are displayed chronologically. 

I think the timeline panel has lots of potential if combined with tags (or even People). For instance, showing the histogram of a Tag. Or overlapping histograms of different colors for a selection of tags. (e.g.: to visualize the time frame of the weddings I've attended, or when you last had contact with some friend).

That's it, just an idea.
