Spacing in AppMenu

Spacing in tray by default
There is noticeable visual inconsistency. Spacing between items in AppMenu is 16 px. Spacing between icons in tray is 10 px by default. Aside of inconsistency, I just don't like such tight placed icons in tray. Consistent spacing is one of most important things that makes MacOS look&feel so great. I've saw a bunch of screenshots where people trying to do some macos-like interface do a manual overwrite of spacing value in QML file. I think we need either setting or good auto adjusting among all items on panel. Thanks. It sounds like the resol solution is to improve and unity the spacing, not to make it configurable. That would give you an easy tool to fix it for yourself, but wouldn't fix the problem for anyone else by default, and would even give people a way to make it worse. Let's use this bug to track that. (changing status accordingly) System Tray item spacing seems to be a bit of a sore subject. We tried increasing the spacing a few Plasma versions ago (not to the level you're proposing) and a lot of people just about hit the roof! So I think we won't be able to do that, sorry. |
