If you close Konsole, delete ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/okular/part.rc and then open Konsole again, does that help? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > If you close Konsole, delete ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/okular/part.rc and then > open Konsole again, does that help? Well, I closed konsole and even yakuake just for a case, then entered this kxmlgui5 directory and found out that I don't have 'okular' directory there. I do have 'konsole' directory, but it's empty. I deleted it and nothing was better. I also tried to remove ~/.local/share/konsole and ~/.config/konsolerc - still, when I run "konsole --show-menubar" the konsole opens without the menubar. Heck, I have even removed konsole and yakuake packages from the system, deleted ~/.config/yakuakerc ~/.config/konsolerc ~/.local/share/yakuake and ~/.local/share/konsole. Then reinstalled konsole and ran "konsole --show-menubar". The konsole was run WITHOUT menu bar. Created attachment 120869 [details] attachment-9248-0.html can you press ctrl + shift + m ? The behavior is as if I pressed ctrl + m and nothing else happens. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. Please provide the requested information as soon as possible and set the bug status as REPORTED. Due to regular bug tracker maintenance, if the bug is still in NEEDSINFO status with no change in 30 days the bug will be closed as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME due to lack of needed information. For more information about our bug triaging procedures please read the wiki located here: https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Bug_triaging If you have already provided the requested information, please mark the bug as REPORTED so that the KDE team knows that the bug is ready to be confirmed. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! Information was provided with comment #3; changing status for inspection. It probably is related to Plasma global menus. Chris: thanks, I've got a feeling that you may be right. Now I tried "kate" - the same thing, it opens without the menu on the machine where the problem is. On the old machine that has no such problem, "kate" opens with menu. Sorry that I reported that for "konsole", but this is where I first observed it. If you need me to check anything else to find the root cause, just say a word. I was just about to reinstall the whole system if it can't be repaired. Found the root cause of the problem. It's unrelated to Konsole. The key thing is the setting in: System Settings/Widget Style/Fine Tuning/Menubar/Menubar style=Application Menu Widget When it's set to this value, the menu in the application will not appear. After changing to "In application" everything is ok. Also, this setting and the menu widget is something completely retarded. I found this Application Menu Widget in the widgets on the panel, it theoretically works, but it expands only the contents of the "File" menu. Other parts are not available - at least this is the situation in Konsole. Still, the problem with non-saved profiles remains. I'll try to report it separately, you can close this one. Thanks for the update; changing status. |
