Confirmed. I opened issue: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/237.

You can add the extract zone:
- with "ctrl+i" to the bin as subclip or
- with "v" to the timeline or
- when you go with the mouse to the bottom left corner of the clip monitor you can either insert video or audio onto the timeline. Click on the desired icon.

Ah, yes, I could also just add the clip to the timeline and cut to size and render. However, when extracting zones in the past created a new raw clip that could be attached to a bug report, for an example. :)

I still miss this feature...

It's a bit of a pity that it does not work, as this was a useful feature for me.

I would chop out interesting bits of very long and massive clips, and delete the original to save storage space. This is useful on GoPro footage where a camera is left to record for hours, and only a minute or two is interesting.

The suggestion from Eugen does not work for this, as it requires the original, or rendering and the accompanying loss of fidelity.

Hey, thanks for fixing this one!

It took me a while to realize that there is a new branch, which explains the lag in reporting this bug as fixed.

Kind regards,
Evert
