One example of Krita mirroring the Brave web browser

SUMMARY
When I start the new 4.2.0 version of Krita for Windows 10 64x, the entire display is completely white. Often times, when I open Krita while either the Microsoft Edge or Brave web browsers are open even if they're minimized, Krita shows whatever was being shown in either browser at the moment I opened Krita. This has never once happened in any previous version of Krita that I ran on Windows 10. I've tried restarting my computer and even reinstalling Krita 4.2.0, but it makes no difference.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. For white screen, start Krita without any other windows open or maximized
2.
3.

Another example of Krita mirroring other windows

Turns out this issue isn't actually limited to just web browsers.

This bug is very similiar in nature to 407693, same windows 10, 64bit. can't mark as duplicated yet as the issue is not a consistent transparent window.

could you check if turning off aero fixes the problem for you? this id recommended in the comment here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407693#c1
Comment 4 Halla Rempt 2019-06-05 14:06:05 UTC
Could you also check whether you've enabled opengl or angle in the display settings, and whether changing that makes a difference?
Comment 5 Elijah Taylor 2019-06-05 19:50:49 UTC
I did actually check the OpenGL setting at someone else's suggestion. After switching to Direct3D, that actually ended up fixing the issue. Krita now functions perfectly normal for me. It might help to find a universal setting in Krita to help most people get started without issue.

thanks -- this makes clear it's the same thing that was reported before. Angle should be the preferred option, but we still need to figure out why this happens.

Hi, Elijah!

Could you please check if this package fixes the problem for you?

https://yadi.sk/d/xl2TNx3_IsyE5Q

It disables alpha channel of the window completely. In general, such approach doesn't work on all the systems, but in might help on yours.
Comment 9 Halla Rempt 2019-07-15 13:12:22 UTC
Elijah, could you please check that build?
