For the record, I can't repro with the following versions: KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.1 Qt Version: 5.11.3 Can you try to build from source: v2.8.0-dev (master branch) or v2.7.2-dev (stable branch)? We have some bug fixes related to changed APIs. Hi! If it may be useful: I tried it in a new Kubuntu 19.04 virtual machine, using the latest git version of Krusader, and the problem wasn't seen. Ok, now I'm on KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 Still can't repro. Can you create a fresh user account and try out? It might be related to some DE settings. Created attachment 120024 [details] You can see on the image that the background window has the focus and cursor SUMMARY Search dialog hides the KrViewer opened from it. When you search in a directory and open KrViewer (by pressing F3 or F4) on one of the resulting files, then the viewer window opens BEHIND the search dialog instead of above it. The focus and cursor move to the KrViewer window, yet the search dialog still appears above it. The search dialog acts as if its 'always on top' property was switched on. The error appeared when I updated from Ubuntu 18.10 to 19.04 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Ubuntu 19.04 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2
