STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. add the icon of some app to your desktop
2. open Dolphin, drag the trash from the places panel to your desktop and make sure that it is empty
3. send to trash the icon of the app added to desktop in the step 1 (trash icon on desktop becomes red)
4. send the trash icon to trash
5. add the trash to desktop again repeating the step 2 (red trash icon appears on desktop)
6. right click on trash icon on desktop, select "Empty trash"

OBSERVED RESULT
Trash is emptied but its icon remains in red


EXPECTED RESULT
Trash icon is blue

I can't reproduce this behavior anymore.
