SUMMARY
Occasionally Krita will be stuck on a process perpetually but forces me to wait for the process to complete before I can save or continue painting, resulting in forced closure and loss of autosaves and often loss of work.

Seems to happen randomly and so I don't know how to reproduce it.

You need to provide more information, if only cirscunstancial. IE

- Size of the image you were working on
- Amount of layers and the type of them
- what platform (win, mac, linux) are you running?
- RAM of your system
- how many monitors are you using
- What graphics card.

while it may be random, more details could help us understand what could be happening. But if it is that random we might not be able to pin point and fix :/
