Description maxmustermann1884 2019-04-25 19:31:49 UTC
SUMMARY
elisa takes the album cover and creates a blur effect, maybe it's possible to combine this with kwin compositing and make the cover art background translucent (similar to konsole)
this is a feature which would be nice for users who don't have a lot of music with cover art, since the green default background takes a lot of space and gets boring after some time
another idea could be to randomize the gradient colors (or follow the highlight color from kde colorscheme)

I'm afraid it's not clear what specifically you're requesting here. I don't see what would be accomplished by making the headerbar with blurred album art transparent, since there's nothing below it that you'd want to see.

is your principal objection here the fact that the headerbar takes up too much space for albums without art?

I just think it looks better (especially if cover art is missing), I don't have music with cover art on my laptop, so can't say if I would change something there.
The current green gradient feels out of place(too big, can't be removed, always the same, isn't consistent with any other kde app, doesn't follow my colorscheme)

Oh, you mean that part of the actual window itself should be transparent, so that you see your wallpaper or whatever's underneath it.

I agree that the big blurry headerbar isn't the most elegant for albums with no art. In my mind, the best solution for that is to automatically fetch album art!

Let's keep this open and see what Matthieu thinks.

Sorry for the late reply.

I thinks that there is tasks I can do that have an higher priority. On the other hand, I am sure we would be happy to help and guide you to contribute this feature. Are you interested ?

It doesn't look like there's any interest in fixing this, and honestly I think the header area on top looks fine right now.
