Description Scott Petrovic 2019-04-14 13:11:37 UTC
I tried doing a few different things to pinpoint this crash...but this is the best I can do for now. Painting on a layer and just hitting save seems to save ok. Only after I merged down a layer...then hit save do I get a SIGKILL crash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.Download this file and open... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1koSRXPn5mDF-M8m5p2gKJw2P2_AHJrhn/view?usp=sharing

2. select the "freckles" layer and merge down with the right click option
3. Save the file

OBSERVED RESULT
the file hangs for a while then crashes Krita with SIGKILL

EXPECTED RESULT
the file saves and doesn't crash

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Ubuntu 18.10 on git master

I guess this is caused by the enormous size of the image. But it should be investigated.
Comment 2 Scott Petrovic 2019-04-14 13:18:41 UTC
I am believing more it is specific to how merge down works. Simply deleting the layer and hitting save has no issues.

It is large. This is for a banner graphic that I have at the conventions. I am just trying to update it with a new graphic

merge down starts a different and longer calculation though. I couldn't reproduce the hang locally, but, like I said, this needs investigation :-)

this computer has 8GB of RAM too. Not sure how much that might play into it if it is starting to use swap space
Comment 5 tusooa 2019-04-14 13:48:26 UTC
Cannot confirm the crash, but after saving, it still prompts that the file is not yet saved.
Comment 6 Halla Rempt 2019-04-14 15:12:49 UTC
I tested on a 32gb system.

This is one for Dmitry.
Comment 8 Dmitry Kazakov 2019-05-23 16:24:09 UTC
I cannot reproduce the problem either :(
Comment 9 Halla Rempt 2019-05-23 18:18:08 UTC
Let's close it for now then, we cannot take action on this.
