hmm. This would need some discussion. Most of the brush engines are for painting, so that might not be specific enough. The only thing really unique about this now is it has a masked brush area. Calling it something like the "default" brush engine might also be too generic. Maybe other people have ideas. (In reply to Scott Petrovic from comment #1) > hmm. This would need some discussion. Maybe other people have ideas. I agree. This needs more discussion. I hope you guys can find a nice solution! Right now I'm translating the user manual so I'm discovering a lot small things like this that turn our Brush Settings panel into an intimidating gore. I can really see how the documentation is struggling to explain the location and function of a particular object, all because of our current UI/UX design. I will probably report a few more things like this in the future. I hope you don't mind! I would really hesitate to do a rename like this. It's so embedded in documentation, training materials and ages of usage. This discussion had better go into the forum or phabricator than bugzilla, so I'd like to close this bug. I think we are going to delay discussion a bit and close this for now. The next year or two is going to have more in-depth discussions with the brush system, so that would be a better time to potentially change things than right now. |
